On the early May Holiday Sunday, and in glorious weather, No. 1 / 822 enters Cyfronydd station. Waiting to proceed to Welshpool is No. 2 / 823, watched by the footplate crew. Both trains were busy, and the weather presaged the start of a long spell of warm and dry weather
