Easter 2016

This selection starts with the classic view at Welshpool Raven Square, with the loco taking water after arrival. The signal box dates from 1981, when the line re-opened from Sylfaen. The current station building was opened in 1992, and is mostly comprised of the original station building at Eardisley, together with toilets which were new, but built in complementary style. The W&L brake van is on display in the new display shed; No.6 Monarch can be seen in the background; it has been restored to display condition but is unlikely to work again.

It was a quiet scene at Cyfronydd, with the old standard gauge brake van offering basic shelter for the occasional passenger.

At Castle Caereinion, the new waiting shelter also offers basic facilities - along with an identical shelter at Heniarth, this shelter has been built to the original W&L design. At Llanfair, the station sign was looking smart after refurbishment work.
